PERIODOGRAM ESTIMATION OF FREQUENCY CHARACTERISTICS FOR RESONANT COMPONENTS IN THE SIGNAL SPECTRUM USING BINARY STOCHASTIC QUANTIZATION |

The article considers the problem of reducing the computational complexity of digital signal processing in the process of localization of resonant spectral components and estimating their frequency characteristics. The analytical solution of this problem is based on the decomposition of a continuous power spectral density function (PSD) into a Taylor series in the vicinity of the resonant frequency. Estimation of the PSD and its second derivative is carried out on the basis of the periodogram method. Binary-sign stochastic quantization is used for discrete-time transformation of a continuous signal into a digital code. The binary-sign approach to the representation of the signal in discrete form allowed us to obtain mathematical equations for which multiplication operations are not the main computational operations. This result provides a reduction in the multiplicative complexity of computational signal processing procedures when analyzing the frequency spectrum. The practical implementation of the obtained mathematical solution can be carried out in the form of a problem-oriented software module, which can be used as part of metrologically significant software of measuring systems designed for statistical analysis of signals.
