UNSTEADY CONJUGATE NATURAL CONVECTION BETWEEN COAXIAL SEMICYLINDERS IN THE PRESENCE OF LOCAL ENERGY SOURCE |

Mathematical simulation of conjugate natural convection between coaxial semicylinders having finite thickness heat-conducting walls with local energy source at internal surface of the external semicylinder in conditions of convective heat exchange with an environment has been carried out. Mathematical model has been formulated in terms of dimensionless variables such as stream function, vorticity, temperature in polar coordinate system. The effects of the Prandtl number Pr = 0.7, 7.0, of the dimensionless time 0 < ? ? 300, of the heat source size and thermal conductivity ratio both on local parameters such as streamlines, velocity and temperature fields, and on integral parameters such as the average Nusselt number at heat source surface have been analyzed in detail.
