Prospects for Creating a Domestic Machine
for Inertial Friction Welding |

Based on the analysis of the development of welding machine designs, the prospects for using inertial
friction welding for manufacturing gas-turbine engine units are substantiated and an automated system
for controlling and monitoring welding parameters on the MST-35 machine is developed, which makes it
possible to obtain a productive and flexible tool for simulating inertial welding. Unlike the typical machine
operation process, the operator selects the required welding mode and sets the parameters (the amount
of upset and pressure), and the rotation and welding time are adjusted automatically. During the welding
process, the control system adjusts the operating modes and maintains stability and reproducibility of the
results, which allows optimizing the process and reducing the risk of defects.
