Heat Exchange of an Elliptical Tube for the Case
of Radiant Heat flow from the Outside
and for Convective Heat Exchange from the Inside |

The article is devoted to the issues of heat transfer inside an elliptical pipe. The paper considers
the distribution of the temperature fi eld of an elliptical-shaped pipe for the case of a radiant heat
fl ow from one external side and with convective heat exchange from the inside. At the same time, the
problem under consideration is stationary. To solve it, the paper considers the solution of the Laplace
equation. The main methods are differentiation and integration, as well as the Fourier method.
The resulting expression of the temperature fi eld of the pipe has the form of a series containing
exponential and trigonometric functions. Based on the obtained dependence, it is established that
the temperature fi eld varies according to the sine law. Special cases were also considered in the
work. The result obtained can be used in engineering calculations when designing heat exchangers.
