The form of Deuterium Atoms That Gives Them the Ability
to Create γ Rays When Forming a Helium Atom |

A promising direction in the knowledge of atomic physics is being developed based on the creation of visual
models of microbodies, which began in the article “Features of the shape of an electron that give it the ability
to create light rays, magnetic fl uxes and electric fi elds,”published in the journal “Engineering Physics”,
No. 4, 2017. Identifi ed features of the shape of the proton and deuteron that give them the ability to hold an
electron in the atom close to them, but at a distance from themselves. A visual model of the deuterium atom
is presented, in which the deuteron is depicted in the form of a log with charge sources at the ends like a
proton. The essence of the proton and deuteron charges is revealed. The reason for the different activities of
the proton and deuteron, which creates differences between ordinary water and “heavy” water, is explained.
The place where the deuteron holds an electron attached to it is determined. The appearance of a helium atom
composed of deuterium atoms is shown. The position occupied by deuterium atoms in the helium atom has
been determined. The position occupied by electrons in the helium atom is indicated. The source of energy
released during the formation of a helium atom has been identifi ed. Based on calculations, it was established
that this source of energy is the pendulum oscillations of uniting deuterium atoms. Their deuterons, having the
shape of a log, are capable of swinging relative to each other, creating energy-intensive γ - rays in the global
environment. The reason for the decrease in the mass of deuterons, called the “mass defect,” which occurs
during their pendulum oscillations during the formation of a helium atom, has been identifi ed.
