3-Fold Reduction in Generation Threshold
and 2-Fold Increase in Effi ciency Nd3+:YAG
Laser With HF Pumping of the Lamp Ignition |

A 3-fold reduction in the lasing threshold and a 2-fold increase in the effi ciency of the Nd3+:YAG
laser were achieved with high-frequency (HF, 3 MHz) “ignition” of the lamp within 300-400 μs after
its HF ignition compared to discharging the capacitance without RF ignition. The laser is assembled
on a commercial K301 quantron with an Nd3+:YAG active element (6×60 mm) and a commercial
DNP lamp 6×90 with krypton in the resonator (400 mm) with fl at mirrors (100 % and 55 % at
a wavelength of 1064 nm). The laser generation threshold was recorded at the second harmonic
(532 nm) using a standard indicator made from a pressed LiNbO3 crystal. The use of a mode to
increase the effi ciency and stability of generation of large laser complexes due to a decrease in the
thermal load on the active elements is discussed.
