Specifi city of Heat Transfer Surface Calculation in Steam
Generators With Heavy Liquid Metal Coolants (HLMC) |

Currently, in the Russian Federation, installations with fast neutron reactors cooled by lead and leadbismuth coolants (HLMC) are being designed; studies of such reactor plants are also being carried out
in other countries. One of the pressing thermophysical problems in the design of such installations is
obtaining experimental and calculated data on the heat transfer of the lead coolant; clarifi cation of the
criterion dependencies of heat transfer based on the operational content of impurities in the coolant,
including technological processing of the circuit for the calculation analysis of heat transfer surfaces in
steam generators of reactor plants with HLMC.
This article discusses the development of methods and expressions for calculating steam generators with
heavy liquid metal coolants (HLMC). The results of studies aimed at studying the infl uence of impurities in
HLMC on heat transfer characteristics are presented. Conclusions are drawn about the characteristics of
heat transfer during a transverse fl ow of lead around a heat exchange tube
