Research Into Operating Modes of a Stand-Alone
Dual-Channel Hybrid Power Installation |

The article is devoted to developing and modelling a stand-alone dual-channel hybrid electric
power installation structure, based on variable speed diesel generator and generation system
on hydrogen fuel cells. The purpose of the article is to research electromagnetic processes of
the designed electric power installation supplying power to autonomous energy consumers
with variable load demand. Matlab Simulink software suite-based simulation was used to
check the proposed hybrid generation system operating capacity. Dependencies of current
and voltage change of the hybrid system’s critical components at load rate stepwise change
were obtained as a result of the simulation. In prospect, the developed models and computer
modelling results will allow to select semi-conductor devices and build microprocessorbased control system of electric power installations with the required characteristics. It is
noteworthy, that such higher power complexes can be integrated in stand-alone electrical
networks, as well as in centralized distribution mains for power defi ciency compensation at
peak loads.
