FACILITY FOR HARDENING INDUSTRIAL PRODUCTS BY PULSED PLASMA FLOWS |

The treatment of materials by pulsed plasma flows is a promising way to improve their performance properties. The work is devoted to the creation of a technological facility that allows to effectively harden industrial metal products. The article presents the design solutions adopted in
the development of the facility for products treatment based on a quasi-stationary high-current plasma accelerator. The developed plasma accelerator is capable of generating pulsed plasma, the thermal effect of which is characterized by heating the surface of most materials to temperatures exceeding melting at different pulse durations. The power supply system of the facility makes it possible to form a discharge with a duration of more than 1 ms, which was not previously achieved on any of the similar plasma accelerators. The facility is equipped with an automated control system, as well as special equipment for placing and positioning industrial products. Taken together, the characteristics of the developed facility make it possible to treat products in a wide range of modes with a short duration of the technological cycle.
