GEOTECHNOLOGY FOR SIMULTANEOUS COAL AND METHANE PRODUCHION IS A PROMISING DIRECTION FOR REDUCING GREENHOUSE GAS EMISSIONS |

The general characteristics of gas hydrate deposits and coal seams as gas-saturated formations containing methane in the sorbed state are established, which allows them to perform the function of layers that isolate the waters of the oceans and seas, as well as the Earth’s atmosphere, from the penetration of deep mantle gases formed as a result of hydrogen-methane degassing. A prediction is made about the existence of powerful deposits of methane in the free state under these layers. The geotechnology of simultaneous coal and methane extraction directly in the mine using a gyroscopic combine harvester for coal destruction is proposed.
