SEISMIC FREQUENCY CHARACTERISTIC PH COAL LAYER SCIENCES AS FORECAST PARAMETER OF ITS BLOCK STATE |

As a result of the analysis of the results of seismic frequency studies, that a coal seam saturated with methane and hydrogen manifests itself as a single, but not monolithic geological environment. In terms of its acoustic properties, the formation does not behave as an exclusively reflecting boundary, but as an oscillating system having an acoustic quality factor and in which resonant phenomena can very likely occur. Moreover, the higher the quality factor of the reservoir, the greater the likelihood of their occurrence. Therefore, this seismic frequency characteristic and its value can be considered as a predictive parameter of the state of its block geological structure and the occurrence of potentially dangerous gas-dynamic phenomena such as sudden squeezing, rash or emission of coal and gas.
