LUKANENKOV The results of detecting the response of a seismic background in the frequency band of the 1st Schumann resonance to pulsed geomagnetic variations associated with the action of a giant fl ash from a magnetar SGR 1806-20 are presented. These geomagnetic variations formed a seismic global source of a special type. A global seismic source was detected by synchronous excesses (increases) in the level of seismic background at eight seismic stations located on different continents of the Earth. The error of the first kind of establishing the fact of exceeding the level of seismic background in the network of seismic stations is close to zero.
