Engineering Physics Annotation << Back THE AGE-OLD VARIATIONS OF INTER-DAILY CHANGES IN AIR TEMPERATURE ARE AN IMPORTANT CHARACTERISTIC OF CLIMATE V.A. LAPTUKHOV, A.I. LAPTUKHOV According to the data for 1881-2017 For 12 different meteorological stations of Russia, the average annual changes in inter-day differences in air temperature DT and their moving averages over 11 years DT11 were considered. It is shown that at this time interval the parameter DT11 significantly decreases, and at many stations this decrease is close to monotonic. It is noted that the magnitude of DT is determined by the cyclonic activity of the atmosphere and therefore DT11 is an important characteristic of climate change. An explanation is proposed why at the beginning of the 21st century the destructive action of cyclones increased in comparison with previous times. A possible connection between the dynamics of the DT11 parameter and changes in the solar activity parameter – its excitement – was also noted.
