Engineering Physics Annotation << Back ON THE MECHANISMS OF FORMATION OF FINELY DISPERSED SOLID WASTE AT EXPLOSIVE CRUSHING OF ORES AND ROCKS Yu.P. GALCHENKO At the present level of our technological development on the basis of matter and energy extracted almost exclusively from the lithosphere, the leading place in the formation of a powerful stream of mineral dust polluting the atmosphere and the biosphere, is explosive fragmentation of rocks. An important feature of the development of processes in the nearcharge zone, which creates additional energy conditions for ultra-thin destruction of the material, is the effect of secondary crushing as a result of the change of the mechanism of destruction. With significant deformations of the medium near the charges, its destruction occurs both on the dynamic front of the crushing and the subsequent deformation of the disintegrated medium. The main priority in creating a model of distribution and consumption of explosion energy in the rock mass is to determine the quantitative and qualitative indicators of crushing material in the area adjacent to the extreme energy concentration. The complex of theoretical studies on the nature and characteristics of distribution and absorption of the energy of the explosion in polymineralic geological materials. It is found that the destruction of these materials at the crushing front as the distance from the center of the charge occurs by various mechanisms. In this case, the determining value is not so much the integral properties of the massif as its mineral composition, through the ratio of the size and strength of the grains of rock-forming minerals.
