INVESTIGATION OF THE INFLUENCE OF THE GEOMETRY OF THE HELMHOLTZ RESONATOR ON THE ATTACHED LENGTH OF THE THROAT |

The infl uence of the shape of the Helmholtz cavity chamber on the size of the attached
throat length (end correction) was investigated. The frequency of the resonator’s natural
vibrations was determined experimentally and the value of the attached length of the
throat was calculated from it. The infl uence of the length and diameter of the throat on the
value of the attached length for the spherical, cylindrical and cubic forms of the cavity
chamber is determined. A linear dependence of the value of the terminal correction for
resonators with spherical and cylindrical chamber shapes on the diameter of the throat
and the absence of dependence on its length are established. There is a linear dependence
of the end correction for the resonator with the cubic shape of the chamber from the
product of the length of the throat to its diameter.
