«EXOTIC» MASS-SPECTROMETRY FOR SPACE RESEARCH. PART 1.ORIGIN AND DEVELOPMENT |
G.G. MANAGADZE, N.G. MANAGADZE, A.L. BONDARENKO, A.E. CHUMIKOV
This essay was dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the Institute of Space Research of the
Russian Academy of Sciences. It tells truthfully and honestly not only about the successes
and scientifi c victories of one of the institute`s laboratories regarding the creation of
unique time-of-fl ight laboratory and on-board instruments of the new generation, but
also the diffi culties and frustrations that usually arise in life if you are doing a great and
responsible job. Despite the fact that these tools were proposed before perestroika, they
have not lost their relevance to this day, as they may be in demand in the near future for
understanding the problem of the origin of life and the problem of settling the planet and
small bodies of the solar system.
Key words: time-of-fl ight, mass spectrometer, plasma torch, laser action, mirror symmetry, synthesis of amino
acids, the origin of life.
