Engineering Physics Annotation << Back THE FORECAST OF DYNAMICS OF SOI INDEX AND EL NI&#209;O AND LA NI&#209;A FLOWS A.I. LAPTUKHOV, V.A. LAPTUKHOV, N.V. SAMSONENKO For the average annual values of the South SOI Oscillation Index used to describe the El Niño and La Niña fl ows, a complex multiparameter nonlinear stationary recurrence relation was established between the future values of this index and its past values. This relation was used to predict the dynamics of this index. It is shown that the mean values of SOI5 for fi ve-year periods will be minimal in 2017–2019 and maximum in 2026–2027.
