THE BOUND STATES OF PHOTON PAIRS |
B.A. VEKLENKO
We study the properties of the polarization operator arising in the Г-operator method
proposed in [1] to study correlation effects in quantum optics. This kind of polarization
operator indicates the existence in media the bound photon states, formally resembling
bound states of electrons in superconductivity. To break the photon pair’s one requires
some energy, resembling the energy gap in superconductors. The elementary optical excitation that occurs when the inclusion of external monochromatic disturbance frequency, along with photon pairs and signal frequency also contains signal with a frequency that is formally reminiscent of the Josephson Effect. As in the theory of superconductivity for the formation of bound pairs the existence of medium is required. The arising of temperature
and concentration of the excited atoms in the medium entail an increase in the number of photon pairs and the loss of thermodynamic stability of the system. The formation of photon pairs manifests itself in all optical effects in the excited media. One predicted not
related to laser effect the possibility of the spreading the quasi-resonant electromagnetic radiation in dissipative media at finite temperature without absorption.
