Isotope-selective interaction of H2O/ D2O isomers with yeast cells in the aqueous solution at the temperature ~32 °C has been experimentally established. The number (~80 ppm) of H2O monomers, which provide of water transportation through the water channels of cell membrane, has been estimated. It was found that the amount of carbon dioxide produced by the cells is doubled in the feed mixture prepared in lightweight water containing less D2O (80 ppm) than in distilled water with ~150 ppm of D2O. Revealed an inverse proportionality of CO2 output indicates that the number of H2O monomers involved in the membrane transportation of water is comparable to the number of substituted D2O heavy water isotopes. The mechanism of isotope separation is discussed. The processes observed are interpreted in terms of the temperature dependence of the water isomers spin conversion.
Key words: monomers of D2O and H2O, lightweight water, isotopic selectivity of the permeability of membrane water channels, spin conversion.
