Engineering Physics Annotation << Back BELT TRANSMISSION PARADOX IN SPECIAL RELATIVITY V.A. LEUS This paper suggests a rigorous mathematical proof of a newly-discovered internal discrepancy in the Special Relativity Theory (SRT). The reasoning is in accordance to the «reductio ad absurdum» scheme. On the basis of relativistic axioms and using relativistic rules of inference a counter-example is constructed. This model demonstrates an unsolvable paradoxical situation pertaining to the space-like aspect of the SRT. Keywords: special relativity theory, Lorentz-Fitzgerald’s length contraction, paradoxes.
