EFFECTIVE ENERGY INPUT INTO THE FLUORESCENT LAMP DISCHARGE PLASMA WITH INCREASED LIGHT OUTPUT AT A RESONANT INDUCTIVE PUMPING |

For the fi rst time, it was shown that the electrodeless induction pump of plasma in a commercial (standard) cylindrical fl uorescent lamp allows for increasing its effi ciency by means of the high-frequency inductive-capacitive (HFI) discharge. The light output of the lamp was increased up to 25 % in comparison with a standard mode. The range of pump resonance frequencies has been revealed by fi ne tuning of plasma impedance. Some physical aspects of the observed phenomenon were discussed in details. Also, the possible applications for the energy-saving technologies have been proposed.
