EASUREMENT OF THE SPEED OF SOUND THROUGH MEANDER ELEKTROMAGNETIK AND ACOUSTIK CONVERTER |

A rapid method for determining the speed of sound basic types of sound waves: longitudinal, transverse and Rayleigh waves, – with a single sensor-transmitter. The method is applied on metal samples with plane boundaries with one-way access and a known thickness of the sample. With the help of electromagnetic-acoustic (EMA), the method could one transducer to generate and accept the surface, the longitudinal and transverse waves and measure their speed in a single statement on the sample. Examples velocity measurements using this method. Accuracy of the method amounts to 0,3 %.
