STUDY OF ELASTIC AND DYNAMICAL PROPERTIES OF NANOSTRUCTURED PERIODIC MATERIALS (PHONON LATTICES) |

This article explores the possibility of a molecular dynamics method to study the dynamic properties of nanostructured periodic systems — phononic crystals with periods of the order of about 10nm. The advantage of this method is the ability to model the various periodic system with the same parameter, different from each other, located in the unit cell of atoms of another kind. This allowed several confi gurations are considered to highlight this, in the phonon spectrum of which there is a gap in the low frequencies.
