THE THERMODYNAMIC ANALYSIS OF THERMAL PROCESSES WITH PARTICIPATION OF RADIONUCLIDES U, Am, Pu WHEN HEATING RADIOACTIVE GRAPHITE IN THE ATMOSPHERE OF CARBON DIOXIDE |
N.M. BARBIN, I.A. SIDASH, D.I. TERENTYEV, S.G. ALEKSEEV
By means of the thermodynamic analysis, the behavior of radionuclides U, Am, Pu during heating radioactive graphite in the atmosphere of carbon dioxide is studied. It is established that uranium is present at a type of the vapors of UO2, UO3, of the ionized UO2+, UO3 – and of the condensed U3O5; plutonium is present at a type of the vapors PuO, PuO2, of the ionized PuO+ and of the condensed PuO2; americium is present at a type of the vapor Am and of the condensed AmO2, Am2O3. The main reactions and constants of balance are defi ned.
Key words: thermodynamic modeling, thermal processes, the equilibrium constant, radionuclides, radioactive graphite oxidation, warming.
