NONLINEARITIES EFFECTS ON THERMOACOUSTIC AND EVAPORATION PRESSURE PULSES IN ABSORBING LIQUIDS DURING NANOSECOND LASER ACTION |
A.E. ZUBKO, A.A. SAMOKHIN
Nonlinearity effects due to variation of thermophysical and optical parameters on nanosecond laser generation of pressure pulses in absorbing liquids are investigated in the framework one- dimensional continual model. Numerical results are presented for pressure pulses generated in water at different laser wavelengths corresponding to absorption coefficient. It is shown in particular that thermoacoustic signal approximately returns its form for all considered nonlinearities and can be described by effective thermal expansion coeffi cient which depends on laser fl uence. The considered thermophysical nonlinearities do not diminish applicability limits of surface evaporation model, while possible absorption coeffi cient diminishing at higher temperatures
gives rise to applicability limits expansion. Calculated pressure behavior demonstrates mentioned before difference between experimental and theoretical curves corresponding to surface evaporation into vacuum.
Keywords: laser action, thermoacoustic effect, surface evaporation, nonlinear effects.
