QUANTUM EFFECTS IN TRANSVERSAL DIELECTRIC PERMITTIVITY OF MAXWELL ELECTRON–ION PLASMA AND LEFT–HANDED REFRACTIVE MEDIA |
B.A. VEKLENKO
The investigation of electromagnetic properties of Maxwell plasma is performed using the quantum electrodynamic mathematical apparatus. If the polarization operator describing the dielectric permittivity leads to the well-known results then the consideration of the mass operator rests out of the investigators considerations. The mass operator describes the role of the thermal phone of second quantized Langmuir waves. It is shown theoretically that the thermal phone (Langmuir field) deforms resonantly the plasma electron wave functions. Such deformations dramatically change the transversal dielectric permittivity
and are connected by character quantum frequency which is inversional proportional to the Plank constant. The thermal phone of Langmuir wave in the vicinity of character frequency deforms the dispersion equation in particular of transversal Langmuir waves. It leads in this region to the negative group speed of electromagnetic waves possessing the relatively small absorption coeffi cient. Such states of plasma are the examples of microscopehomogeneous and isotropic media possessing the negative refraction coefficient.
Key words: Maxwell plasma, quantum electrodynamics, mass operator, polarization operator, thermal phone of Langmuir waves.
