ACOUSTIC EMISSION IN THE ALUMINIUM ROD IRRADIATED BY INFRARED LASER PULSE |
S.D. ZOTOV, A.A. LEBEDEV, E.N. LOTKOVA, M.M. LYAKHOVITSKIY
Аcoustic emission (AE) was investigated from the one face of the aluminium rod
(2,4×3×111,7 mm) while the opposit face was irradiated by CO2-laser infrared pulse
(300 ms duration, energy 1,5 J). The асoustic differential detector and the «Acoustic
emission analyser СДС 1008» were used for acoustic signals detection. Three acoustic
signals in the range 30…600 kHz were recorded due to the infrared pulse excitation, what
means that IR pulse induces in the aluminium rod local sources of stress waves. It was
found that AE general picture is not repeated in the experiments carried out with short
time intervals between them.
Key words: laser pulse, aluminium, acoustic emission.
