Engineering Physics Annotation << Back The curve in pool boiling of a subcooled liquid E.V. Anokhina The pool boiling curves of a subcooled liquid under atmospheric pressure is experimentally investigated with the different materials of cylindrical heater. The copper wire (diameter 60 and 100 micron), the tungsten wire (diameter 90 micron) and the nichrome wire (diameter 100 and 150 micron) were used as the metal heating surfaces. The burnout of the heater do not correspond the crisis of the boiling. Critical heat flux qкр and burnout of the heating surfaces necessary differ.
