INFLUENCE OF LONGITUDINAL MAGNETIC FIELD ON THE ELECTRIC BREAKDOWN IN THE LONG TUBES |
A.V. NEDOSPASOV
Electric breakdown in the long tubes are realized by nonlinear two-dimensional electromagnetic which ionized gas and propagates along the tube charged the electrical assign capacity of its walls. In slow ionization waves the velocity of ionization front varies in wide range when the increasing time of voltage on the electrode is the order of 108-100 V/s and it depends on a such discharge parameters as the derivative of applied voltage, the pressure and sort of gaseous and the value of assign capacity of walls. The experiments showed that the external longitudinal magnetic field essentially changes the parameters of ionization wave, but don’t influence on its velocity. This paper is devoted the study of this phenomenon/ The absence of wave velocity dependence on the magnetic field can be explained by the conductivity of plasma column which is proportional to the electric charge on the walls during gaseous discharge. This explanation is valid if the moving front of ionization wave is the only source of gas ionization. Key words: gas breakdown, longitudinal magnetic field, ionization wave, velocity of ionization front.
