RESEARCH TO NEGATIVE CORONA IN THE «NEEDLE–PLANE» SYSTEM UNDER HIGH PRESSURE |

This article focuses on the results of experimental and theoretical research and numerical simulation of a nonequilibrium plasma at atmospheric pressure in the study of negative corona in the «needle-plane» system in the air. Have shed light on that Trichel pulse parameters may vary due to change the experimental conditions. In particular, the hysteresis in selfpulsing mode when the voltage across the discharge occurs. It turns out it is true that the properties of the Trichel pulses, when they exist, are controlled by the ion drift zone, but their existence is determined by the active zone. The results of numerical simulation of the air corona discharge is shown that the experimentally observed oscillation mode of its own, known as Trichel pulses, is well described by a three-dimensional axisymmetric model that is based on the standard transport equations, which made the assumption that the production of electrons only as a result of secondary ion-electron emission at the cathode. All models achieve a more or less satisfactory agreement between the calculated and experimental waveforms oscillogramms of Trichel pulses. The result shows that information obtained from the Trichel pulse waveform is not enough for solution of the question about the main mechanism of electron emission.
