Identification of a Rational Thermophysical Mode
of Restorative Repair of a Steel Structure
by the Surface-Wearing Method |

An approach to identifying the optimal thermal mode of restorative repair of largesized steel structures
is presented based on a mathematical model of heat exchange and deformation processes, formalization
of the topology of the treated areas using a weighted undirected graph, as well as the formulation and
solution of an optimization problem on the graph. The total "thermal distance" of the restored surface
from the previous processing units, which is a weighted sum of the dimensionless geometric distance
and temperature gradient, is used as the maximized objective function. The result of the calculation is
a process chart in the form of a Gantt diagram, describing the sequence and duration of processing of
each working surface.
