INVESTIGATION OF ANOMALOUS RADIATION AND HEAT PHENOMENA IN CAVITATION LIQUID JET 1. ANOMALOUS EFFECTS
IN THE GENERATION OF X-RAY RADIATION STIMULATED BY LIQUID CAVITATION |
V.I.VYSOTSKII, A.A.KORNILOVA, YU.V. KORNEEVA, T.B. KRIT
In the work are discussed the optical and radiation (X-ray) processes, which are accompanied by cavitation mode during the forward movement of the two types of liquids –
pumped in a closed loop engine oil or free exit of a supersonic jet of water from a narrow channel. It is shown that in a certain pressure range at the outlet of the jet engine oil from
the diaphragm arises intense white-blue light, the properties of which are fundamentally different from sonoluminescence. It has been found that the casing chamber, inside which
there is an origin and evolution of cavitation bubbles in the volume of circulating oil, and
the output channel portion and the initial portion of the water jet are sources of intense
X-ray, the generation of which is associated with cavitation and subsequent excitation of
shock waves . Frequency (energy) of X-rays depends on the type of atoms on the emitting
surface (for oil - the camera body, for water jet - the atoms on the surface of channel) and
increases with increasing charge atoms of 1keV up to 5 keV. The total activity of X-rays
in the test installation in free outlet stream exceeds 0,1 Curie. It is found for the fi rst time that the effects of acoustic shock waves on thick remote screens are generated in the air by cavitation jet of water causes the generation of a quasi-coherent X-ray radiation is directed from the back side of the screen. The spatial parameters of this radiation depending on the shape and the cross section of the screen and on the spatial characteristics of the shock wave. Experiments on the use of «classical» solid lens (glass and metal) for the fi nal combined acousto-focus X-ray waves are conducted. It is shown that one can use
such a device for focusing a pulsed X-ray radiation.
Key words: cavitation in the liquid jet, shock waves, generation of X-rays.
